Tristan:Hi Fara, there is an an estimated amount of 680 lighthouses in the US.

Close enough.There are 750-800 lighthouses in the U.S. and according to a survey by National Park Service within 250-300 of them are considered historic.
When I told our lighthouse guide of Pontchartrain Lake ,John, that I have visited about 100 lighthouses especially in Maine,Delmarva,North Carolina and Great Lakes,He said you have seen the most important ones.John believes the number of important historic lighthouses in the U.S.is within 110.There are 27 lightships too if you want to add them up.
